The Protein Sequencing Center Director: |
SERVICES AVAILABLE TO INVESTIGATORS and CURRENT PRICE SCHEDULE
Note: State of the art Edman sequencing at the highest sensitivity currently available is performed on an ABD Procise capillary LC instrument.
The Protein Sequencing Center provides the following services to support the research of investigators at SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn and other academic and medical institutions. Sample turnover time is short, with data analysis often completed within one week of receipt of sample.
Sample
Preparation.
In-gel
or on-PVDF tryptic digestion of proteins followed by HPLC
separation. This procedure yields sequence information from
N-terminally blocked proteins, or gives sequence for primer sythesis
from multiple sites. $250.00
Electroblotting
from SDS-gels by Core Facility prior to sequencing.
Charge/gel $ 45.00 Problott paper supplied to other laboratories (1
sheet) $ 25.00.
Amino
acid analysis. Hydrolysis + analysis/sample $100.00 Multiple
samples with common control solutions (per sample) $ 80.00
Specialized analyses: Identification of P-Ser, P-Thr, P-Tyr,
$100.00
Protein/peptide
purification by HPLC A microbore HPLC system is available for the
purification of peptides and small proteins where the sample is
available in small amounts. The system will be operated by the
investigator under supervision. Users will purchase their own column
and reagents. Use/day $ 30.00
Use
of PC/GENE, a Protein/Nucleic Acid homology search/manipulation
package. PC/GENE is installed on a committed computer in the Core
Facility and is available for use by investigators. Instruction is
given. The following charge helps defray the $950/year maintenance
fee. Cost/user/year $ 50.00
